okay so last night we got a strange message from a foreign-sounding man regarding a moving company. it sounded a little too weird to be serious, so we kept it to laugh at. listen to it here.

then this morning we get another one, from a different guy but still foreign. but it actually sounds like the same guy. it's almost the same message, for the same company, same phone number. listen to this one.

we figure it has to be a joke from someone we know. we guess it's either adam or jay, but adam hasn't mentioned anything and it sounds nothing like him. it sounds a lot like jay (a lot!) but it's not his phone number. so i call up the phone number they left, and it actually sounds like a legit company until a while into the message when it just sounds like a really creepy scam (yet still awesome). listen to what you get when you call the moving company.

so yeah, if you listen to the last one you hear me press 2, which is what i'm supposed to do to get to a live operator, but it just hangs up and i get the off-the-line beep beep beep. mystery!

if this is you, you are the best. but i really doubt it's you, and so it's just creepy, while remaining somewhat interesting. feel free to call the numbers yourself, i don't think i have the balls to call the number given in the last one (the one to get more information or to be put on the do-not-call list, it's a 905 number)... but hey, feel free.

...the first two, the messages, really sound like jay.

so yesterday i went to a wedding on a boat for my uncle with mandy and the family and there was fun and dancing and drinks and food. and then my family and mandy's family met for the first time and went to dinner and had a lovely time. and then i saw the majesties and despistado at the ford plant. and then i went to nikki's house with karley and looked at old yearbook photos of people from north park (before i knew nolan, he had long silverchair hair. wow). and then i went to bed. and somewhere in the middle of this i fell down the stairs.

and today was fathers day. and in celebration, karen and i recorded the best song ever. (to the few of you who have already heard karen and i sing twist and shout backwards: this is an all-new COMPLETE version! download! and love!)

my dreams lately have all involved me dying. for once, non-recurring, which is awesome, and no similarities at all except i end up very dead, and i always accept my death gracefully. this is very much unlike me. i will see a wild dog running for me, and i'll lay down and let it eat me? yeah no. a plane is crashing and i refuse a parachute? yeah no.

i also had a dream last night about a movie called goya, which doesn't exist, starring robin williams (dressed as rainbow randolph) and the guy who did the voice of jafar (wearing sweatpants and one of those fat belly things? like the pads? but no shirt). and i can't remember what happened except that one scene involved them and i robbing a grocery store, and the climax was robin williams writing his wife cecilia an explanation letter in like... EXTREMELY runny green thin sharpie. and at one point he wrote something and i was like "oh god that's amazing, i need to write that down and put it in my journal" but yeah, i guess technically it was me writing it, and i can't remember what it was. does that ever happen to you? someone says something or writes something in a dream, and it feels so detached from yourself? anyway robin signs "francis goya" at the bottom of the letter. and that name sounds totally familar but i don't know who it is. any help?

my new memorization technique involves me listening to all my rough tupperware recordings on repeat, while singing along, to try and memorize them. cuz i mean, that's how i usually end up learning lyrics to other peoples' songs so it should work for my own, right? right. except that i hate them. so it's just ending up pissing me off. bah! oh well. tomorrow will be fun, no matter what. vulcan dub squad!

saw the decemberists and the long winters last night at lee's alongside these fine folks: mandy, amber, and the kate. definitely in contention for best show of all time, competing for said title with the blood brothers and the arcade fire. even though they didn't play here i dreamt i was an architect OR i was meant for the stage. but whatever, the songs they did play were all incredible. i mean shit, they played the tain in its 20+ minute entirety, and it was incredible. and the long winters were good but NOT incredible. the lack of harvey danger really left something to be desired. they still put on a great show though, and played just about everything i wanted to hear, save a cover of don't tell me.

if there's any chance of you getting to the ford plant in brantford this friday, i would really appreciate you coming to this show which only costs five dollars:

spent the afternoon watching old elephant show/eric nagler videos with the family. my mom is shocked i want to learn to play the singing saw and jew's harp. it's all about the nagler.

"oh that's not from that long ago."
"dad it's from 1986, that's like 18 years."
"wait... oh wow it is!"

my dog [a "schnoodle"] beat the fuck out of a rottweiler/shepherd cross today. damn right.

i don't know what's going on. so i guess i'm going back toronto tonight. i wanted to hang out with kate.

konrad totally charmed over all the ford plant massive last night, and also publicly called me his stalker. prick.

i think some more childhood favourite video watching is in order. possibly one of the many mary kate & ashley olsen mysteries that we own! man i wish we had some fred penner or mr. dressup stuff. now that was quality children's programming.

i think my dad really wants me to be a children's entertainer, which is news to me. could be a fun job if i could stand being that happy all the time [usually ends badly - see high school].

and you will know us by the bail of hay.
